What PONS VPN is
PONS VPN is a decentralized private-internet protocol with Grok Bot agents on the control plane. When you connect, your device builds an encrypted tunnel to a live city run by an independent operator. Agents have already scored that city. Websites, apps, and the café Wi-Fi see that city — not your home or phone network.
This is not a monthly VPN with a new logo. A monthly VPN is one company, one warehouse, one bill. PONS is a marketplace for capacity: you buy gigabytes, settlement happens on-chain, and the session keys stay on your device.
The website is the control plane. Grok Bot agents score the mesh, watch the receipt, and complete the handshake. You sign in, pick a city, pay, pick up a setup file. The data plane is the tunnel itself — WireGuard or V2Ray on your phone or computer, speaking directly to the location you paid for. Agents never sit in that tunnel.
02 / Protocol
The protocol, in four layers
Treat PONS VPN as four stacked layers. Mixing them up is how people confuse a payment chain with a VPN.
- Device. Your phone or computer creates the session keys. WireGuard (Noise_IK, Curve25519, ChaCha20-Poly1305, BLAKE2s) or V2Ray / VLESS carries the packets. The private key never leaves that device. PONS does not store it.
- Session. You pick a city and a number of gigabytes. The protocol quotes a clear price (location + PONS fee), takes payment, then Grok Bot agents complete a handshake with that location only. Nothing is reserved until you confirm.
- Locations. Independent operators run real machines in real cities. PONS does not own the racks. If one city fills up or goes offline, you choose another. That is the dePIN property: physical capacity is not a single company’s cloud account.
- Settlement. You pay in ETH, USDG, or PONSVPN on Robinhood Chain. That payment is a receipt. It is not the tunnel. Your browsing never rides the payment network.
After the handshake, PONS is out of the data path. Packets go device ↔ chosen location. The app remains the place you come back to for receipts, invite points, and the next city.
03 / dePIN
What dePIN means here
dePIN stands for decentralized physical infrastructure. In this protocol, the infrastructure is bandwidth: machines in cities, run by people who are not PONS VPN.
A typical VPN rents servers from one or two clouds, slaps a logo on them, and sells a monthly seat. If that company has an outage, a policy change, or a billing fight, every user feels it. A dePIN directory is different: each location is an independent door. The protocol is the marketplace that lets you walk through the door you paid for.
- Operators run the cities. PONS lists live locations, quotes a price, and completes the handshake. We do not pretend to own every rack.
- You buy capacity, not a seat. The unit is the gigabyte. Idle weeks do not keep charging you.
- Failure is local. If Zurich is full or offline, Singapore is still on the map. You pick another door.
- No required protocol coin. PONSVPN is accepted — it is the official PONS token. ETH and USDG still work. You do not have to buy PONSVPN just to get online privately.
The brand you see is PONS VPN. The network underneath is many machines. That split is the product.
04 / Architecture
Control plane vs data plane
Serious protocols split “how you pay and pick a city” from “how packets move.” PONS does the same.
Control plane — the PONS app and Grok Bot agents. Sign-in, directory, quote, payment verify, receipt, handshake, invite points, leftover session credit if any. This plane knows the city, the gigabytes, and that settlement landed. It does not carry your browsing.
Data plane — WireGuard or V2Ray on your device, talking to the location you chose. Encrypted packets never go through Robinhood Chain. They also do not need to bounce through the PONS website once the tunnel is up.
The handshake sequence is always the same:
- 1. Quote. City, gigabytes, location price, PONS fee. Visible before you confirm.
- 2. Settle. ETH, USDG, or PONSVPN on Robinhood Chain. Public receipt, not a silent card renewal.
- 3. Issue. The protocol completes a handshake with that location only. You receive a setup file or a scan code.
- 4. Tunnel. Import into WireGuard or V2Ray. From that moment the data plane is device ↔ city.
A browser cannot become a full VPN by itself. That is why the last step is an app you already trust. Native PONS apps will collapse import into one tap; the layers stay the same.
05 / Cryptography
Cryptography you can name
PONS VPN does not invent a new cipher suite. The tunnel uses cryptography the industry already audits.
- WireGuard — Noise_IK handshake, Curve25519 for key agreement, ChaCha20-Poly1305 for packets, BLAKE2s for hashing. Fast, small, and built for a single purpose.
- Keys on device — the WireGuard private key is generated in the browser and stays there. PONS never stores a copy. Anyone with the setup file can use that session’s data, so treat the file like a house key.
- V2Ray / VLESS — available when a network is stricter and WireGuard is blocked or unreliable. Same product rule: you import a share link; PONS is not in the packet path.
- Transport vs settlement — Curve25519 protects the tunnel. Robinhood Chain records that you paid. Those are different jobs on purpose.
What this is not: a promise that every tracker on a webpage disappears. Encryption hides your traffic from the local network and changes the city others see. Page-level trackers, password reuse, and unpatched devices are still your job.
06 / How it works
How a connection works, start to finish
- 1. You sign in. Email, Apple, Google, or a wallet you already have. PONS remembers you so your invites and points come back next time.
- 2. You pick a location. Each card is a real city and a real connection type. The price per gigabyte is on the card.
- 3. You choose how much data. Slide to 1 GB, 5 GB, 20 GB, or more. The total updates before you pay.
- 4. You pay. ETH, USDG, or PONSVPN on Robinhood Chain. PONS confirms the payment, opens the city, and prepares your setup file.
- 5. You get a setup file. Download it, or scan the code with your phone. Import it into WireGuard or V2Ray. Turn it on. You are private.
07 / Sign in
Signing in
Tap Get started. If you have an email or a social account, that is enough. If you prefer a wallet, you can use that instead. You do not need both.
We never ask you to write down a secret recovery phrase for PONS VPN. Login is meant to feel like any other modern app. If a wallet is connected later, that is only so you can pay from it — it is optional.
08 / Locations
Picking a location
The app lists live cities from independent operators. Search by country or city. Filter by connection type if you already know you want WireGuard or V2Ray. Each location shows how busy it is and the price you will pay.
If a city is full, slow, or offline, pick another. Nothing is locked in until you pay. A location is a door your traffic walks through — an independent machine in a real city, not a sticker on one company’s cloud.
Names on the cards are friendly labels. You do not need operator jargon. You need the city, the protocol, the price, and whether it is available. That is the directory a dePIN should show.
09 / Paying
How you pay
You pick a city and how many gigabytes you need. The app shows the price in dollars. You pay that amount on Robinhood Chain with ETH, USDG, or PONSVPN. PONSVPN is accepted. That transfer is the receipt. PONS then opens the city you chose and hands you a setup file. You are not charged a second time if the file takes a moment — use Retry setup under Your connections.
USDG and PONSVPN still need a little ETH on Robinhood Chain for the network fee. Robinhood Chain never carries your browsing. It only records that you paid.
The price you see is the price you pay: location plus a PONS service fee. Invites earn points for the person who shared the link — they do not change the price on the checkout screen.
10 / Connect
Downloading, scanning, and turning it on
After you pay, PONS VPN shows a setup file and a code you can scan. That file is the only thing your device needs to join the private path.
- WireGuard — a simple, fast app for phones and computers. Download the official WireGuard app, import the file or scan the code, tap on.
- V2Ray — another popular app, often used when a network is stricter. Import the share link PONS copies for you.
A web browser cannot flip the whole device onto a private path by itself. That is why you import into an app. Future PONS desktop and phone apps will do this in one tap. Until then, WireGuard and V2Ray are the trusted way.
Keep the setup file private, the same way you would keep a house key. Anyone with that file can use that connection’s data.
11 / Threat model
What we can and cannot see
A protocol that asks for trust should say what it actually observes. PONS is the control plane. The tunnel is yours.
What PONS can see: the city you chose, the gigabytes you purchased, and that a payment landed. Enough to open the location and show a receipt.
What PONS cannot see: your WireGuard private key, a copy of the encrypted packets, or the websites and apps inside the tunnel. Those stay on the data plane between your device and the location.
Independent locations are not a magic cloak against a hostile operator at the city you picked. Choose cities you are willing to exit from, the same way you would choose any VPN exit. If one city goes away, another is still on the map — that is the dePIN property, not a promise that every operator is a saint.
No VPN can promise magic against every tracker on a webpage. PONS VPN hides your traffic from the local network and changes the location others see. Pair it with good habits: strong passwords, care with links, and updates on your phone.

What things cost
The public starting price is $0.18 per gigabyte. Packs are a shortcut, not a trap:

- 100 GB · $18.00 — Always-on privacy without a yearly plan
Before you confirm, the screen breaks the total into the location and the PONS fee. That is on purpose. You should see where the money goes.
Leftover invite points sit on your account toward upcoming giveaways. They do not discount the next payment.

Inviting friends
Every account gets a personal code and a link that looks like https://ponsvpn.com/?ref=VANTA-XXXX. Share it.
When someone opens that link and later pays for their first connection, you earn points toward upcoming PONS giveaways. The number of points is set in Admin. The app shows clicks, sign-ups, paid friends, and your points.

How settlement works on Robinhood Chain
Robinhood Chain is the settlement rail — Robinhood’s payment network on the internet. If you already use Robinhood, think of it as a faster, cheaper way to send money next to the app you know. People can hold dollars-on-chain, ETH, and in time other assets Robinhood puts there.
PONS VPN does not run your private internet path “on” Robinhood Chain. Control plane and data plane stay split. Your browsing still goes through a PONS location. The chain records that you paid. It never carries packets.
Here is the simple loop:
- 1. You open PONS VPN with email or with a wallet that can talk to Robinhood Chain — including a Robinhood wallet when it is available.
- 2. You pick a city and an amount of data the same way you always would.
- 3. You pay on Robinhood Chain. That payment can be ETH, USDG, or PONSVPN. PONSVPN is accepted. Fees on that network are designed to be small.
- 4. PONS receives the payment and opens your location. You get the setup file or code. You connect. Robinhood is not in the path of your websites or apps.
Why this is a good fit for a protocol:
- PONSVPN is accepted. ETH and USDG still work.
- Settlement is public and inspectable. The tunnel stays encrypted and off that rail.
- Robinhood already has a huge audience that is about to have an on-app wallet.
- You pay PONS on Robinhood Chain; we open the location and hand you the setup file.
- Later you could pay with assets you already hold — dollars, ETH, even stock tokens — without leaving the Robinhood world.
What it is not: PONS VPN cannot turn Robinhood Chain itself into the tunnel. The chain is a checkout. The private path is still a location you pick in the PONS app. That split is what keeps payments familiar and privacy intact — the same split any serious dePIN should keep between money and packets.
16 / Help
If something goes wrong
- No locations loading — wait a moment and refresh. If it stays empty, try again later; cities come and go.
- Payment went through but no file — open Your connections and tap Retry setup. We will not take a second payment for that transaction.
- The app imported but there is no internet — turn the profile off, wait a few seconds, turn it on. Try a different city if it continues.
